Ranger Super Duty 12V Canopy Build

Working closely with the canopy builders we were able to squeeze a very powerful battery system into a short tool box on the Ford Ranger Superduty.

Redarc, Custom Lithium & Victron

At the heart of the system is all the best bits you would expect. Redarc was chosen for charging (both DC and solar) and for 240v output. Custom Lithium for the battery and a host of components from Redarc and Victron for battery monitoring and protection.

As with all our 12v canopy builds we tend to mount all electronics into a custom housing that makes the most of available space while providing protection for the equipment. Inside the enclosure all system fusing, relays and switching are mounted for easy service at a later date should it be required.

Unique to the Ranger Superduty and Tech-pack Rangers is the factory up fitter switched mounted in the roof. These are typically only active with ignition on. In the vehicle we modified the system to run off the custom lithium battery regardless of vehicle condition so that the work lights, hazard light and compressor can all run with the vehicle off and locked. The factory high-beam switches still run off the vehicle battery.
